It is a dialogue between a multi-story, slender tower building with a functional base zone, interwoven with the steep topography and the course of the bobsleigh track. In order to preserve the power of the natural space and its atmospheric effect, the building is positioned respectfully between the vertical structure of the giant trees. The volume of the target building of the ice channel reacts to the flow of the public and to the sequence of public and internal functional processes. As you walk, you will be able to take in targeted views of the impressive panorama of the Inn Valley, the Nordkette and the bobsleigh track. A minimalist, powerful sculpture made of solid wood is covered by a pent roof with an open roof truss. With glazed wood as a facade material, the building positions itself as a fixed point in the surroundings of the metal-clad sports facilities, allows the treetops to shimmer through green and, when viewed from the outside, recedes into the natural environment. The massive base zone houses material control and emergency supplies as well as storage and garage in the immediate vicinity of the race exit. The kiosk at the roundabout arena level is the central joint at events directly at the pedestrian bridge. Above, on the upper floors of the tower, the race organization with timing, the administration and the press area overlook everything as if from a cockpit. The choice of materials is honest and reduced, simple the detail: a cantilevered support structure on wall panels spans the entrance area, solid wood walls on the upper floors serve to stiffen and frame the room. High glazing in targeted areas brings nature into the house, while transparency allows everyone to experience the sport up close.
