The design approach is based on an ensemble of four structures, which appear noticeably as identifying houses for the teaching clusters. Above all, however, they are suitable for combining the typology of a compact hall school with that of a closed perimeter block development. The positioning of the houses relates to the shape of the property and the surrounding buildings. A sunny landscape of terraces is created in the center, which in the interior becomes the center of all functions and thus a meeting zone. Outwardly, conciseness appears. The main entrance is near Sillgasse on the calm forecourt towards Palais Pfeiffersberg. It emphasizes the newly planned footpath axis, as well as the connection to the Akademische Gymnasium. A free staircase leads between two buildings to the first floor, it invites you to linger here in an expanded, spacy area and provides the address for the school. On the Belle Etage, which has been lifted from the street tumult, the room widens to the transverse, open auditorium, with light coming in from the spacious terrace into the inner courtyard. In summer the auditorium can be opened towards the sun deck and offers a pleasant area for breaks and for supervised afternoon hours. All general rooms are attached to the auditorium and can also be used in combination. The room sequence: movement room – music hall – auditorium – afternoon care – event hall, as well as LIZ and EDP allow the desired synergies. A cascade staircase going inside and outside creates a generous vertical connection between all break areas and the cluster floors. On the 2nd and 3rd floors, the regular classes are housed, with one cluster per house, with a space in between, which provides space for informal entertainment. The open learning zones are oriented towards the quiet surroundings and contain a private space each.
