An ensemble of six buildings surrounds a public park with tall trees and a variety of open space accents and paths. Each construction phase comprises two residential families – a linear development and a point building – whose open positioning characterizes the inviting appearance and provides fresh air corridors in times of climate change. The 6 houses play with slight differences in their building height and dancing facades to structure the buildings. Two buildings each represent the required housing mix. The goal of this invited process is to develop the neighborhood in dialogue with the municipality, architects, and developers to jointly determine the precise density for the site. Higher volumes toward Frauenfelderstraße form a backbone, while the buildings are discreetly recessed from the small-scale development to the north, responding sensitively to sunlight and light. In terms of urban planning, the car-free ensemble interweaves with each other and with the beautiful park at its center. The resulting familiar atmosphere of the „Quartier am Park“ is emphasized by a level plinth zone toward the center. Building entrances communicate with each other, and all light-filled stairwells have a connection to the outside and are directly accessible from the circular underground parking garage. Toward the edge of the neighborhood, the ground floor, located on the raised ground floor, is protected from views from, for example, the new promenade. A centrally located loggia forms the heart of each apartment, which enjoys multiple light sides.
