In the framework of the given functions and conditions, the 1100 HTL students are offered added value in the heart of the school. The addition of 10 classes in the middle of the area seem natural due to the distance to the two listed school buildings on Anichstrasse and Innrain. It takes up the width of the middle wing in the school courtyard, the new building can be experienced through a 2-storey overhang. It provides an adequate canopy for the breaks above the central entrance. The structure of the multi-purpose HALL is floating above the base building. It appears to be somehow independent and yet it is spatially summarized by an ATRIUM which forms a high-quality foyer for breaks. Daylight is led through the two round air spaces to the existing floors. The two attic exits are activated for breaks and one each acts as a second escape route for the two new building levels. A second HOLZBOX is positioned in the inner courtyard as a counterpart to the addition. All bicycle parking spaces are positioned underneath, this area is slightly lowered and roofed with a lightweight construction made of steel and wood. The platform with seating steps to the center of the courtyard, which is only slightly raised above the site, creates a pleasant atmosphere in the courtyard for breaks. The mixed uses are decoupled, the crèche playground moves to the roof of the cafeteria. The little ones can now play in the sun even in the transitional months, and a crafts area with shade complements the offer for hot days.
