The new building carries on the existing strong characteristics of the center of Breitenbach am Inn. The contrast between closed and open village development, the alternation between urban and rural areas and the interplay of narrowness and space are further pursued in an ensemble of two houses with an alley. The village typology of views to the east after each house is sharpened according to the local potential and developed into a center. The new school building acts as a transition or as the head building of the new unit and keeps a well-proportioned distance from the intersection. A deliberate break on the alley side creates the necessary distance between community- and school use and provides a new walking connection to the Mühlbach and the tourist information. A compact pentagonal structure with three floors above ground asserts itself confidently in relation to the surroundings, but at the same time fits in non-hierarchically next to the community hall. The forecourt with walking and seating steps leads down to a newly created club level with no traffic. A newly created village center, which also functions as an open-air theater, invites the residents to meet and linger. Transparency at the entrance level and a generous canopy strengthen the location and form an adequate entrance area for the primary school. The hybrid spatial program creates an open house that can innovatively use the possible synergies between the school area and the club area. The cluster floors react sensitively to the immediate surroundings and its views. The classrooms are grouped around market square and school yard, which naturally creates a generous distance from the community center and provides a filtered view of the village via a loggia on both levels.
