Where the access axes intersect on the central forecourt, the new fire station east has its main entrance. The foyer is a vertical interface between the functions of the fire station on the ground floor, rest level above and office area with trainings- and recreation rooms on the top floor. It leads to the officers’ rooms at the top and overlooks the forecourt and the hustle and bustle in the house and courtyard, like that creating a sociable overview and that with short distances to all important functions. Transparency on the operational level and a generous canopy on both sides form an adequate base zone. A slight twisting off of the wash box and the entrance front, reinforce the relationship to the fire station. The fire brigade can practice on the forecourt directly in front of the vehicle hall; the north-facing facade of the tower is used for exercises with ladders and rescue training on the facade.
