The Austria Pavilion proposed by us promises visual impressions and space for relaxation and regeneration. A fan moves countless wind turbines above the ENTRANCE and provides fresh air at the threshold. Waiting is used as energy that encourages visitors to deal with the main topic: Where do I draw energy from? What are my energy sources? What can I contribute to the energy transition? With UV light pens, thoughts about “Future Energy” can be left behind: an oversized graffiti wall is created. ROOM 1: VIRTUAL REALITY – Vision becomes reality: With VR glasses you can embark on a virtual journey full of experiences to Austria – everyone interactively determines through eye movements whether they wish to get information, technical data / diagrams or experience sensual images /landscapes instead. The filmic staging shows how and where in Austria electrical energy and vital energy is obtained – and how it is used. By combining real film with 3D animation, the Expo theme is charged with poetry and emotions. ROOM 2 – The ENERGY FILLING STATION – A light and sound installation on a gallery to digest the impressions of the last few minutes and to recharge the batteries. An oversized light dome and loungers create the necessary ambience for absolute relaxation. The dynamics of the spiral exit ramp bring visitors surprisingly effortlessly back to the exit level and into the catering area. The floor plan captivates with flowing movements and interlocking rooms: a curved path between graffiti walls form the prelude, 3 cylindrical structures define the 8 m high main room of the exhibition. They allow views to a limited extent and arouse curiosity for more. Each building is specific in its dimensions, height and the design of its cladding. The opacity between the areas is controlled by the degree of transparency of the layers. In detail, in an abstracted form the layers show the elements on which we should build our energetic future without fossil energy sources: water, wind and thermal energy and the help of each and every one of us!
