With Villa Benedikta, a meeting place for Absam is being revitalized. The listed existing building presents itself as a clear, finely structured, cuboid solitaire with a striking veranda facing the south-looking garden. A light pavilion is added to the villa on the south/west side. The positioning of a new pavilion gives the regular, rhythmic design of the villa a subtly composed asymmetry and, above all, hides the very inhomogeneous neighborhood to the west. The villa becomes the center again. The villa and pavilion are connected using a transparent link. The floating, single-story pavilion stands at an appropriate distance from the listed villa and its three-story wooden veranda; together they form a balanced building composition. The beautiful old garden is framed by the ensemble, the glass surfaces enhance the existing structure and the mighty giant trees in a special way through the reflection. The new building has simplicity and lightness and creates the ideal daycare on one level on the mezzanine floor! The existing spatial structure of Villa Benedikta will be retained. Required functions are created through the proposed space allocations to minimize modifications to the existing building. The slight adjustment of just one window opening on the north facade creates barrier-free access as the main entrance for the clubs on the side facing the town and thus directly the parking lot. A new lift, the only intervention in the building, together with the listed staircase, connects all levels without entering the crèche unit. The areas for the parent/child center and the clubs are located on the first floor. The attic creates the desired event space as a large single room.
